Alfred on the Carina

Alfred on the Carina, bringing tea with a smile.
From the islands of the Philippines, he's traveled many a mile.
Named for Alfred the Great, but there's another king to me.
My grandfather was a great man, and that's my history.

Deep thoughts in the morning, music in my head.
Sometimes all those melodies keep spinning round instead.
Hey, Alfred, turn the music up, then let it fade away.
Find a little rhythm.

For the night and for the day.
Hey, Alfred, let the world sing, but hear your heart beat too.
There's a time to dance.
And a time for quiet.

And a world waiting for you.
Teacups on the table and the ocean rolling blue.
A thoughtful kind of gentleman with dreams he's working through.
He loves the sound of music, but he's learning when to choose.

When to feel the silence, when to let the rhythm loose.
Hey, Alfred, turn the music up, then let it fade away.
Find a little rhythm.
For the night and for the day.

Hey, Alfred, let the world sing, but hear your heart beat too.
There's a time to dance.
And a time for quiet.
And a world waiting for you.

Alfred of the Carina, sailing on the sea.
With a song inside his heart and the space to just be free.
