A safer, clearer arrival
An accessible entrance and dedicated reception will help every visitor feel expected and cared for from the moment they arrive.
Mission to SeafarersNorth Tees and Hartlepool
A stronger welcome for seafarers
Seafarers spend months away from family and familiar surroundings. Together, we can modernise their centre at North Tees and Hartlepool into a safer, warmer and more dignified place to rest, connect and receive support.
Your message will go directly to Aidan Webster, Centre Manager, who will discuss the most suitable way to contribute.
Why it matters
Ships keep our ports and supply chains moving, but the people working aboard them can arrive tired, isolated and far from home. The Seafarers’ Centre offers a welcoming place ashore, practical help, pastoral care and a chance to speak with someone who understands life at sea.
The building now needs investment to match the quality of that welcome. This project will improve the entrance, reception, communal spaces, chapel, offices, welfare facilities, shop, storage and gardens—creating a centre that is accessible, durable and ready to serve seafarers for years to come.
The difference your support makes
An accessible entrance and dedicated reception will help every visitor feel expected and cared for from the moment they arrive.
Renewed communal areas, toilets and quiet spaces will give seafarers somewhere comfortable to rest, talk and keep in touch with home.
Improved offices, chapel and practical facilities will strengthen confidential welfare, pastoral and day-to-day support.
